Aeration

We have a range of machinery using different methods to help relive compaction and aerate soil. The Wiedenmann XP6 has the ability to spike with 25mm tines up to 350mm deep . The Terra Spike or Verti-Drain vertical aerators can use solid or hollow tines to take out cores, reducing organic matter. We offer a range of slitters for fast, minimal impact aeration. Alternatively, there is also our latest machine the Verti-Quake, this linear aerator decompacts the soil using a set of rotating steel blades. As these blades cut cleanly through the soil, they create a wave action that shatters compacted areas and opens up the subsoil.

Aeration can have the following benefits:
-
Enhanced soil water uptake.
-
Improved fertilizer uptake and use.
-
Reduced water runoff and puddling.
-
Improved air exchange between the soil and atmosphere.
-
Stronger, deeper turfgrass roots.
-
Reduced soil compaction.
-
Enhanced heat and drought stress tolerance.
-
Improved resiliency and cushioning.
-
Enhanced thatch breakdown.
